No More Mess !
The magnetic soap holder (aka Bottle Cap Soap Holder) is an ingenious tool that keeps soap easy to reach, but never sitting in a puddle of water.
To use, center the bottle cap-like end piece over a bar of soap and press until the the cap is embedded in the bar.
Place the suction cup and magnetic arm on glass, tile, mirror or other smooth surface. Ta Da!
No more wet, gunky soapy mess !
Round suction cup end measures approximately 2" in diameter.
Projects 2.5" from the wall.
Aluminum magnetic soap holder holds soap in place
Suction cup end attaches to mirror, glass, tile or other smooth surface
Soap dries out between uses and extends the lifespan of the soap
The Umbra grassy soap dish in blue is a funky, colorful new way to hold soap. This rubber molded soap dish features lots of little grass strands that support the soap and allow the water to drain off of it. No more soap sitting in water. This is a perfect soap dish for kids and adults alike and can be found in both kitchens and bathrooms. The Grassy soap dish is also available in pink and green.

This is well designed to hold bath soap. The bar doesn't slip around like it does in a dish and the soap doesn't melt. Who ever designed it, they built a better soap dish.
Like the design and color
Reviewed by: E. G., Seattle, WA USA Review Date: 2008-08-25
Color was a good choice opposed to green. Blue related to water, which was good cause it was going in the shower. Second, green wasn't something I wanted to see in my bathroom, think it promoted the wrong idea, relating to mold. Anyways, keeps the soap from getting soft and soggy which is what I wanted it for

We have been using this since the fall of 2009 and have no complaints other than wanting better color choices. It looks bright in the picture here but is a dull blue color. It keeps the soap from sliding all over, and it doesn't get soggy or melted. You do have to tip it upside down to drain the water out and of course, clean underneath of it. Well worth the price in my opinion since we don't waste a bar of soap within a weeks time anymore.

I threw it out

It came squashed and bent out of shape. It's so soft and pliable that it's probably hard to pack it without squashing it. It's still perfectly functional but it looks terrible and I threw it out. It's not worth trying to return it for $4.99.

I must say that I quite like this soap holder. It does what it looks like it does: it holds the soap so it doesn't get all mushy sitting in water as it does in conventional soap holders. It is quite snazzy, know that it is not a hard material and is quite flexible. Make sure to wash it under some water once in a while or you'll find yourself with some nasty gunk build up.

Eliminating germs and bacteria from your hands takes more than just a quick wash and rinse. Most bars of soap and liquid soap pump dispensers are in contact with dirty hands all day, collecting germs; but this sanitary alternative doesn't require you to touch anything. The Automatic Soap Pump Dispenser with Touch-Free IR Sensor detects when your hands are in front of it. Just hold your hands at the level of the IR sensor, and the dispenser will provide you with liquid soap needed to get your hands squeaky clean. The amount of soap it releases is adjustable depending on the type of soap or how much you want to use. Additionally, there is a blinking LED that will last for 20 seconds, the recommended time frame for scrubbing your hands until they are germ free. With a clear liquid soap housing and easy to remove lid, you'll know exactly when to add more soap. The Automatic Soap Pump Dispenser with Touch-Free IR Sensor is powered by four AA batteries, sold separately.
Infrared (IR) sensor for hands-free soap dispensing
Blinking LED indicator for germ-free lather time
Adjustable automatic soap dispensing volume and manual dispensing button

I purchased two of the simplehuman auto soap dispensers a couple of months ago and think they are great. I read the other reviews from people who didn't like them because they would only dispense a drop or two of soap at a time. The same problem occured with mine when I refilled the units with soap. I used a large bottle of Softsoap hand soap to refill both units several times without any soap dispensing problems. However, I decided to buy another bottle of Softsoap hand soap (aquarium series-clear) just to change the color of the soap. That is when I experienced the same problems that the other people complained about. Only a drop or two of soap would be dispensed, no matter what the dial was set on. I looked closely at both types of Softsoap hand soap and noticed that the newer bottle of soap was thicker in consistency... almost like a jell. I poured out the new soap and refilled the units with the original Softsoap hand soap and the units are once again working great! My conclusion is that the thicker, goopy, jell-like soap just doesn't work well in these units. I also noticed that the newer lot# of Softsoap has slightly less percentage of the antibacterial active ingredient, Triclosan (0.115% vs. 0.15%). Shame on Softsoap! To sum it up, I love the simplehuman soap dispensers. I just need to be careful with the type and consistency of the liquid soap I use in them.
Love it!

Priming seems to be the biggest problem with this. Once you get past this, you are all set. If your liquid soap is too thick, just set the setting up to compensate for it. Works great! Plus I love the timer- especially for the grand-kids!
Not enough soap
Reviewed by: Carl Dean, San Jose, CA USA Review Date: 2008-11-15
I bought two different touch-free liquid soap dispensers from Amazon in September 2008, the Simplehuman and the Allton SD1020. I used the Simplehuman for a month and then used the Allton the following month (with regular Softsoap brand liquid hand soap I bought from Costco). It gets used about 10 times a day.
The Allton works better and it cost 25% less.
The Simplehuman does not give enough soap, and it has to be primed before each use. There is a little button on the top which activates the pump and will prime the unit, but that is hardly touch-free. When using it normally (with the touch-free IR sensor), it gives about a pea size amount of soap. I find myself needing to use it 3 times to get enough soap. (It is set at the highest setting)
The Allton has never needed re-priming (after the first time used), and always gives a perfect amount of soap.
7 months later, my unit died
Reviewed by: G. Lyster, Ca. Review Date: 2009-05-24
When I first bought this unit, I was in love with it, and told all my friends about it. Then I bought the second one, this one the battery couldn't stay in because the screw was not long enough to screw the cover back on. Well, no big deal I went and exchanged for another one. Then 7 months later, the first one I bought died. I put in brand new batteries. That did not solve the problem. I read the other reviews with instructions how to fix this problem. I am sorry, I don't have the patience nor the talent to go through those steps. A soap dispenser that costs $40 should never require users' repairs nor should it break down after 7 months of useage. If I have done this feedback when I first bought it, it would have been a solid 5 star, but not now. Simple Human ... are you reading these reviews?
Terrible!
Reviewed by: Lisa Galera, Houston Review Date: 2009-11-03
It BARELY dispenses a drop of soap, you have to keep reactivating it over and over to get enough soap which is SLOW. Yes, the manual dispenser button works but that negates the entire point of purchasing this product. I wanted it to be touch free while I am cooking to eliminate spreading bacteria.
I've even diluted the soap--it didn't help. It amazes me that this dispenser is so popular, I also saw it in the Williams-Sonoma catalog and I expect better from them.
Buy a disposable soap dispenser at your grocery store and keep some hand sanitizer in the kitchen. Pocket the extra $35.

The only give-away to your upcoming meal will be the smells from your kitchen, NOT your hands.
Innovative soap for removing pungent odors and debris
Negatively-charged stainless steel soap combines with positive charge of cool water to neutralize germs
Soap lasts for years; no soap scum; no hazardous ingredients added to water
Included soap dish for secure storage by kitchen sink
Soap measures 4-1/2 by 2-3/4 by 1-1/2 inches; weighs 1 pound
I bought several of these as Chrismas presents. The family members that received it all thought it looked really classy. I kept one for myself since I do a lot of cooking with garlic and onions. I rub my hands with the soap under cold water and all the bad odors disappear like magic from my fingers. It also works for taking the smell away after eating lobster in the shell. The enclosed soap dish is a nice touch and allows us to keep it by the sink all the time. Buy it just for the cool factor!

For an innovative, chic, and award-winning presentation of soap, use the Magnetic Countertop Soap Holder from Taymor. Winner of the Best New Bath Product award at the 2003 New York Home Textiles Show, the magnetic soap holder is crafted from crisp, clean stainless steel and a magnet. For use with a guest-sized bar soap, a small stainless-steel disk is pressed into the soap and then attached to the magnet in the holder. The soap holder extends the soap over the sink, where it can dry out and remain mess-free while leaving countertops spotless. A weighted base keeps the holder secure on the countertop. The soap holder can be employed in any room in the house where soap is used.
Fully assembled;perfect for kitchen sinks;bathroom lavatory bowls and powder room bowls
No more messy soap build-up;soap drips directly into sink and eliminates the need for soap dishes
Takes up little counter space
Wipe with a clean damp cloth;do not use abrasives
Measures 7-inch H by 9-inch W (3-inch Diameter Base)
The magnetic soap holder seems like "magic" at first glance! It gives the illusions of a bar of soap suspended in space. Children and adults are fascinated. It works with standard bar soaps, as well as fancy milled soaps, eliminating the need for a soap dish and the associated build up of soap scum. I purchased one as a novelty for a remodeled bathroom, and ordered additional ones because so many friends and family were intrigued. Both a novel and useful product.
Love this product. We all know what the used soap looks like but this allows the soap to dry between uses with no more mess. Handy for the whole family.

This clever design provides a near-perfect solution to soggy soap bars that lose more soap to "erosion" than to hand washing. It's elegant design keeps soap dry between uses by allowing water to drop off of it into the sink and by suspending it, allowing air to circulate all around it. The built seems solid and, after a year, the chrome finish has not shown signs of deteriorating.
This is an outstanding design and is very reasonably priced--under $17 including shipping, at the time of this review.
