I got on Amazon today looking for this specific product and am disappointed to see it is currently unavailable.
I am looking because the one I purchased in 1990 finally failed on me this morning. The flexible extension broke from years of manuevering it up and down in the shower. It is still working, but now it is hanging from a thin rubber tube and I think it is probably best to replace it before the tube breaks.
It is simple to install, it screws on to the pipe your shower head is now hooked up to and then the shower head attaches to the unit. Water runs though it to keep it fog free. You adjust the volume of water the first time you use it and then never again so you really shouldn't have any problems with the control "breaking off".
In my view, any product that sells in the $20.00 range and lasts 15 plus years and does exactly what it is advertized to do for all of that time deserves an excellent rating. I will find it somewhere else and buy it, again.

I've been using this for over a year now and love it. I bought the extension kit so I have more flexibilty adjusting the height. The mirror NEVER fogs up on me...simply because of its design (using the same water your showering with). I can't recommend this product enough and its the absolute best shave ever! No more residue that stays on your skin drying and chaffing it. The best way to shave...by far. My search for the best shave ended when I bought this mirror and used Neutrogena Men Razor Defense Shave Gel ..which is another product that is fantastic.
finally, a fog-free mirror that works!
Reviewed by: Wiggly, Chicago, IL Review Date: 2006-08-01
I've been through a number of regular fog-free mirrors. While they all start out just fine, they usually 'wear out' in time, losing their special coating, and are hard to maintain and clean properly.
The ShowerTek is such a simple idea, using hot water behind the mirror surface to keep it from fogging - and it works exactly as planned: I don't think I could ask for anything more really!
** EDIT: 2 years later, and finally my ShowerTek has bitten the dust. It's not so much that the mirror stopped fogging up, but more that the durability of the plastic articulated arm and valves with all the hard water in our area has finally seen the valves leaking and the tubular arm getting very stiff and eventually breaking. Oh well, 2 years of solid use in a very harsh continual water climate isn't really too bad for less than $20. **
Finally .. a really fog-free mirror.

I bought this a few years ago and have never regretted the purchase. Every so often I need to windex the mirror surface, but it is always restored to its original spotless, fog-resistant state like it was new. The plastic water valve at the top of the armiture does take a little effort to move, but once you have it set, you don't much need to mess with it after that. The mirror needs very little water--just a trickle--to maintain the temperature behind the mirror, so you don't sacrifice any water from your nozzle.
My only complaint with this mirror is I wish I knew about it five years earlier, instead of putting up with a much lesser product for a long time.
Super Product

I have owned my ShowerTek nearly as long as I have lived in my home--23 years. I am finally buying another one, because someone (not me) pulled and broke it where the flexible neck meets the mirror. Super glue isn't doing the trick, so time to get another one. I guess $1 per year isn't bad. Looks like the new models have two valves, whereas mine only has one. Since I have never used the valve to shut the water off to the mirror, I haven't had any issues with it. Also, we have hard water here, so, the flexible neck got some mineral build-up and held nicely wherever I moved it. As you can tell, I highly recommend it.

I use this to shave in my shower, and it works very well. The suction cups lock onto the wall perfectly fine. The mirror does fog up, however it's not a big deal because I just wipe the fog off with my hand and it doesn't fog up again. The mirror can hold 2 razors, but if you have one that is wide behind the blades, it won't fit (but you can just place it horizontally on the holder). The size of the mirror is perfect, small enough to be compact and large enough to see my face standing 1-2 feet away in my shower. It would have been cool if the mirror could hold a can of shaving cream too, but that's asking a lot for a suction cup design.
When I bought this there were no reviews, but it looked like it worked well so I went with it and I'm glad I did.
Works like a charm...

I recently purchased this fog-free shower mirror and so far it lives up to its billing. I have a one-piece fiberglass shower and tub, and the mirror is VERY securely attached. In fact, it is so secure that it takes a bit of effort to detach it to reposition it.
My experience thus far is that the mirror does remain fog-free. Reading reviews of other fog-free mirrors, it seems like the ability for the mirror to remain fog-free might decrease over time. If that does happen, I will update my review to say so, but, after owning this mirror for a couple of weeks, that has not been the case.
I was somewhat surprised at how small the mirror was-- even though the dimensions are listed and are accurate, in my mind I was expecting it to be a bit bigger. That said, the size is perfectly fine and does not affect my ability to see my entire face while shaving.
One minor nitpick-- I use a Gillette Mach 3 razor, and the design of this razor prevents it from lying square in the razor holder on the mirror. That is, the opening for the razor is too small to allow the razor to fit squarely (i.e. parallel to the mirror/wall) and has to be rotated 45 degrees or so to fit. Since razor blades themselves are almost all the exact same width, it would be nice if this mirror had a slightly larger opening to allow the razor to lie flat, as is shown in the marketing photo.
UPDATE: After a couple months with this mirror, it does tend to fog up a bit more than it used to. Or, rather, condensation builds up on the glass after a few minutes. However, after I simply wipe it down with a wet wash cloth, it stays clear the rest of my time in the shower-- plenty long enough to finish shaving.
Works better than most fog-free mirrors

I've used this product for about 2 weeks. It works better than most fog-free mirrors I've tried, at least the type that don't require installation in the shower head pipe. The mirror has minimal distortion, the size is sufficient (not too small but not so large as to be in the way), it remains fog-free, and the suction cups keep it in place.
I know that some of these mirrors work because of a coating that can eventually wear off the surface, so I'm not sure if it will continue to work indefinitely. But for the price, provided I get a reasonable amount of time out of it, I'm satisfied.

I installed this the night before so it would be in place when I went to get ready in the morning. I woke up to see that the mirror had fallen out and was laying on the shower floor. The suction cups were still holding to the wall however. It seems as though the adhesive used to hold the mirror to the base had separated and lost its adhesion. I used some superglue gel to stick it back on. Now it's in place fine, however, it fogs up completely. I have to splash water on it continuously to be able to see myself.

Taymor Adjustable Floor Mirror, Chrome
The mirror I currently own used a thumb screw to hold the mirror in place after making adjustments. This method is not good because the screw loosens over time and the mirror tends to fall down leading to a cracked mirror. I was a little apprehensive about ordering this mirror until enlarging the view and was able to see that a clamp was used to hold this mirror in place. This is the best mirror ever! It was easy to put together and there is a clamp to hold the mirror in place after making your height adjustments. If the clamp does not hold tight enough, you do get a hex key to tighten a screw behind the clamp just enough to make it work better for you. The only downside is that the base of the mirror is very, very heavy but I don't have to move the mirror around because it stays in my bathroom. If you've ever owned a thumb screw adjustable mirror before, then you'll be much happier with this one for sure. The price is a great buy at $63 versus other online companies that charged between $89.95 to $200-plus dollars and their models looked to have thumb screws.

I purchased this floor mirror so I can see the back of my hair when I fix it. This one replaces a mirror I had on the wall with an extension arm. My bathroom is very small and I had the extension mirror on the wall opposite from our sink.
Having this mirror allows me to move it closer to the sink mirror. I am impressed at the quality of this mirror. It's heavy so there's not much chance of it toppling over and the mirror itself is nice and large.
There is also a "lock" to hold it at a certain height as the pole that holds the mirror is adjustable.
I'm really pleased with this mirror and would encourage anyone else to buy it.

I am completely impressed with this mirror. I had one of the Brookstone mirrors like this for quite a few years - then it broke and I found out much I relied on it. I saw this one was a lot cheaper and thought I'd give it a try. It is MUCH better quality than the Brookstone, solid as a rock and the levered clamp works much better than the dubious screw clamp on the old Brookstone.
When the box arrived I first thought some mistake had been made - it was HEAVY. That's just because it is so solid and the base is rock-stable. Excellent optical quality on the mirror and very nicely finished - you cannot go wrong. Save yourself some real cash and get this. I see mirrors similar to this going for over $200 - they must be dreaming because this is superb quality for $50 and free shipping.
Five stars all the way from me.

Received this mirror, which has proven to be just what was needed, with the pole slightly bent. The mirror shipped in an oversized box with only a few crumpled sheets of newspaper for padding between the product box and the shipping box. I didn't notice any damage to the boxes that would account for the bent pole so the damage must have been during manufacturing or boxing.
The mirror works as advertised and I'd recommend it.

First, people should realize that no "fog-free" mirror stays fog free for very long. That said, this mirror performs well in comparison to many (and I do mean many) that I've used before. It has lost most of the fog-free aspect after 4 months of use - I keep a small Oxo squeegee suction cupped next to the mirror. By the way, the aluminum frame is substantial and weighty, as are the suction cups. This may be alot of what contributes to the relatively high the cost.
