It's more fun showering with a partner, especially if that partner is a Conair SR11 shower radio. With AM and FM reception, you can hear your favorite music, listen to talk shows, and catch up on the news. And you can hang it in the shower for clear, beautiful sound even while shampooing your hair. The SR11 adds new dimension to your shower experience. Stylish design, clean features and station reception make the Conair SR11 a shower radio to rival any other. Not only does this radio look great, but it is so water resistant it is almost submersible.

I've only had this radio for a few days, but so far it looks really good. The sound quality is very good, especially for a $10 radio. You will not have any problems hearing this radio in the shower. Half volume is more than enough and full volume is ridiculously loud. The dials are nice and big and easy to turn. The tuner is very sensitive and it's easy to find the station you want. The push button power switch is also a nice touch. The only drawback is that it takes 4 AAA batteries. I would definitely buy this radio again.
Update July 1st, 2009:
Just changed the batteries after about three months and the radio still works very well.

I spent a lot of time reviewing other waterproof shower radios, and this one seemed to have a lot of customer satisfaction. I've been using this radio for about 4 weeks now. Such a big improvement of the previous radio I was using. The sound quality is very good and the signal reception is excellant. I use it in the basement bathroom and even tucked away in the shower in the basement, it manages to pull in the stations I had trouble receiving with the previous radio. Very nice.
Bought this to replace a Sony shower radio I've had for years. I was amazed at the difference in quality. The sound is superb, it sounds like you have a component hifi in the bathroom. I use it mostly, but not only, to listen to the news, and the voice quality is amazingly clear. The volume can be set very loud with no distortion. One great little feature that is not described well in the listing is that the FM antenna in the back swings around to become a beautiful and very solid semi-circular handle for the radio, so you can carry it around the house very easily. FM reception is outstanding, AM so-so, but that's inevitable and due to my location.

This radio is VERY well made, has useful features, excellent reception, and excellent sound quality even when maxed out (this is very good because I have to turn it up to about 90% of max to hear it over the shower and our noisy exhaust fan). The radio was a little bigger and heavier than I expected but considering the excellent build quality, water proofing (it can be submerged up to one meter for 30 minutes!), and that it floats makes the physical dimensions a reasonable trade off. I like the LED flashlight built into the side as I imagine it will be handy when the power goes out. I also like the alarm timer, useful if you want to take a quick nap and don't want to reset your alarm clock. I would recommend this radio to anyone!
Exceptional FM Reception
Reviewed by: Kid For Life, USA Review Date: 2008-04-13
It is a misnomer to call this a "shower radio" since it serves very well as a table top unit, a camping radio, an emergency radio, a beach radio and an all around great radio product. None-the-less, it works so well in the shower that I have gotten one for every shower in the house.
I have tried four other "shower radios" before finding the Sangean. None of them performed well. Two of them simply died upon getting wet. Not even a very expensive model from The Sharper Image performed as well nor as consistently as this unit.
I live more than 35 miles outside of Washington DC in a very rural and mountainous part of the state. Radio reception here is poor even under the best of circumstances unless you are seeking one of the "big boys" in the city. Even with a high quality receiver there is a lot of bleed over of adjacent station frequencies as well as frequency drift as the day progresses. The station I was after is nearly 40 miles away in an even more rural area. Even with a high end home stereo connected to a large external, directional, FM antenna in the attic this station is difficult to receive consistently.
The Sangean received the station right out of the box albeit very weakly until I unfurled the built-in external antenna. That station now consistently comes in well, rain or shine, winter or summer. Positioning of the external antenna is very critical. This radio's receiver isolates stations very well which is an amazing feat for any portable radio in this class of equipment. This feature is so helpful, that I listen to two stations that use the same frequency. One station is in Virginia while the other is in Wilkes Barre, PA. By simply repositioning the antenna, I can listen to either station without cross talk from the other station.
The battery life of the four D-cell batteries is exceptional. After more than a year on the original unit I purchased, the power indicator has not even dropped 10 percent from a full charge and this radio gets a lot of use every single day.
The supplied mounting hardware attaches the radio very securely to the wall if you wish. The very clever handle also makes it easily hang from the shower curtain rod or towel bar in those situations when you want a temporary, but secure attachment.
It has 5 digital presets for each band (AM/FM) so that you can easily lock in your favorite stations without the miserable and imprecise dial tuning of so many other portable radios. The tuning is rock solid and there is no frequency drift that usually plagues most other radios advertised for shower use.
The sound is very strong and clear even at low volumes. You can also play it loudly enough that even the most demanding "rock your socks off" teenager will be gleefully singing in the shower. If mom and dad don't put the kibosh on the shower concert, that is.
I really love my radio! It gets every station and clearly. The volume range is fantastic. I love it and have already bought a second in orange. I read some bad reviews but decided to try it anyway and it has been great. People that have experienced issues receiving stations should consider their location not the actual unit. This radio works the same if not better than an expensive sony radio I have used before.
I love this radio. Love the controls, love the colors, it's lightweight and
has good sound quality for the price.

Hard to get a station in, but once you do it comes in pretty loud. small unit that stays on the tile wall of the shower pretty well.
This product probably wasn't even worth the $20 I spent for it. The biggest issue is the suction cup, which only works on the most perfect surfaces, namely glass. The worst part is that you can't even set it on a flat surface, such as a desk, without the need for the suction cup to hold it in place because it is so top heavy. If your surface isn't perfectly smooth, the suction won't stick, and the radio will just topple over.
The other issue is the battery compartment. There are two, tiny little screws that need to be removed to insert/change the batteries. My guess is that the average consumer does NOT have a screwdriver that small. I also laughed when the directions told me to make sure the batteries were in correctly (correct polarity), but the radio doesn't have any markings as to which way the batteries go. I just had to do trial and error. Big deal? Not really, but it's a common theme with this little radio: A good idea with some nice features, but someone didn't spend enough time making this thing fully functional. I returned the radio after one day.

I've read other reviews regarding this shower radio, most ranging from average to poor. I'm not sure if those people are expecting it to wash their backs for them, but if you're searching for a shower radio to play music for the 30 minutes you're in the bathroom each morning, look no further. Good quality, volume, AM/FM, and I like the that the on/off button is separate from the volume. Not to mention, you can't beat the price...

This is a great, simple shower radio. AM/FM tuners, dial operation, battery-powered, with convenient on/off button (as opposed to others which use the volume dial as a power switch). As always with dial radios, you may need to fiddle a bit to get it just-right on a certain station, but thankfully once you do, that dial need not be nudged until you change your mind. I put mine on the window ledge to get best reception and it works.
All I wanted to do was listen to music in the shower/bathroom, and that's what I got with this! Ten dollars well spent.

No, it is not a high tech digital radio that can scan the tropics of radio transmissions and provide incredible reception, but it really does the job it was designed to do. It will light your way. It will connect you with world band radio. It will scream a loud siren to help you be found among the rubble that once was your home. It will comfort you. And, if you haven't even given it alkaline batteries, all you have to do is turn the crank. Miracle of miracles, this little radio will love you.

The audio isn't booming bass but when you spend $20 for such a thing you get what you pay for...its all relative and this item is more geared towards talk radio.
Good for limited purposes.

It's acceptable, if only barely, for the price. We have an FM transmitter hooked up to our satellite-receiver audio out, to broadcast a music channel throughout the house to any FM radio; thus, the signal within the house is strong. Even so, this thing is finicky, and other than the local signal, pulls in very few stations (though, in fairness, we are in a remote area). If you are in a metro area with solid reception in your house or apartment, this will probably do. The sound quality is mediocre, but we don't expect a music hall in the shower stall; for the duration of a shower, it suffices.

Sounds like a $15 radio. It works, tells time, get's some stations better than others, and sounds cheap. But if I had wanted great sound, I wouldn't have spent $15. It sticks to the wall well, and the clock is accurate. I usually listen to AM talk in the morning getting ready for work. My favorite station comes in marginally well. The strongest station in the area comes in well. Not a lot of volume, but again, it serves the purpose. When I get tired of this, I'll buy a $50 bathroom radio and toss this out.
