Warm on a cold morning; I'll never get plastic again. I haven't had it long enough to claim that it will last, but it sure looks like it will. It's even relatively quiet when dropped.

Had to replace the seat in one of the bathrooms, found this on Amazon.com, it had good reviews, thought I might give it a try. Prime shipping was fast, received it in two days, seems to be very durable. It took me about 10 minutes to take down the old one and put this one on, didn't have any problem with the hardware like one of the reviewer had pointed it out. Good buy, may purchase more in the future if necessary.

The toilet seat I owned previous to this one would grow black mold in a week's time. My bathroom is very tiny with little to no ventilation, so it's almost always humid in there. Unfortunately this creates a hospitable environment for mold growth. Since I've replaced the old toilet seat with the Mayfair seat a month ago, I have yet to see even a speck of mold on it. Looks great and was easy to install as well. Well worth the purchase!

We have a similar toilet seat already that we are very pleased with, and thought this was the same as the first when we placed the order. When it arrived we realized it's slightly different. It's the same price as the one we bought at a local hardware store but of a higher quality, so we are doubly pleased. Husband found it extremely easy to install -- took him just minutes -- he said he doesn't understand at all the other reviews that had installation problems. It looks great on our new toilet, and I love how easy it is to clean. Highly recommend.

A great looking solid seat, super easy to install (just do the plastic bolts first and then the seat snaps right into the top of them). It is easy to take the whole thing off to clean. I priced these out at the Blue and Orange stores and they are $50 plus tax and made of plastic. I bought two and say thanks to Amazon for the hookup.
PS. The slow close is pretty freakin nice to have, it takes about 15 seconds to close and you can just barely hear it. I have to admit that as a man, we will tend to close it ALOT more often because you can just tap it and walk away and know that it wont slam. just sayin :)

I have been awakened for 29 years by the sound of the toilet seat hitting the toilet. I just thought it was something you put up with, at least he didn't leave the seat up,a worse problem, right? NOW I am thinking I didn't have to put up with that noise all that time, aaargh*&%#!!

After searching high and low for replacement seat covers for my new home, I came across this seat on Amazon. The price seemed more than reasonable for a real wooden seat and it also came in the elongated version. Other plastic seats were far more expensive but looked cheap and also did not appear to be destined for longevity. When it arrived, I was so amazed at the ease in installation and the quality construction. I would also recommend this cover to large dog owners as it foils the canine attempt to drink from the ever-filling porcelain drinking bowl.

Our elongated bowl came with a plastic split seat that looked horrendous in a home bathroom. We replaced it for a couple yeras with one of those cheap foam seats that are soft, which worked fine for a while, until it got visibly dirty, despite regular bleaching.
I looked for an affordable replacement seat, and saw this model. After using this product for a few months. I highly recommend it. It is built well, and feels very solid in construction. There is no give at the hinges like other cheap seats. The hinges works very well as well. During the first month or two the hinges were very stiff, and the lid took a full minute to close. However, the lid is finally broken ain and the lid closes in about 15 seconds in a nice smooth motion, with barely an audible noise when it finally taps down on the bowl. Impressive.
The only complaint i have is that the bolts that are used are plastic, like many other cheap seats, but because the seat itself has no flex, they have been holding up perfectly so far.
As long as the finish on this seat holds up to time, this product will have my high recommendation. Oh and by the way, the seat is comfortable to sit on.
It is a little harder to find good seat replacements for elongated bowls for the home setting, but I recommend that people give this seat a try.
The finish is very white, not an ivory, but very close to the white that reminds me of the white from those Liquid White Out bottles we used to use to cover pen ink while writing on looseleaf paper back in school.

This particular seat was comparable to several other more expensive ones marketed by Amazon. We are always in search of black toilet seats, and amazon always has them, complete with free shipping and awesome quick delivery. Anyway, who WOULDN'T want a black toilet seat??!?!--it just makes sense. And it looks really vintage and New York.
This item arrived exactly as pictured. Easy to install, nice finish, easy to keep clean. Well worth the money, especially since black bathroom items are hard to find.

I purchased this toilet seat and upon arrival it is very noticeably a good toilet seat. The chrome fittings are very solid, no sliding of the toilet seat which is a must. It fit our round toilet perfectly, the measurements stated are accurate. The black seat is true black and it is very glossy just like it said. It wipes off easily and looks terrific. The toilet seat opens and closes easily and quietly.
I was a little startled to see that the matching black bumpers were small compared to the other toilet seats I've seen but there have been no problems with them.
Mine came in perfect condition with no chips and no lacquer damage. We've had 180 pounds sitting on it and it hasn't broken. Cat sits on it while I shower, sneaks drinks out of the toilet bowl and there are no scratches.
I've only had this toilet seat for a little over a month and at this point I love it. It's great to walk into the bathroom and see that shiny black seat as opposed to those boring old white seats.
