I received this item yesterday. The seat was beautiful and well made. Unfortunately, the shiny black finish was very scuffed by the corrugated packaging material. I returned it (very easy to do......kudos to Amazon) and ordered another. Hopefully this one will arrive in better condition.
Unfortunately, the next one was the same way. I would now give this product one star. This is not Amazons packaging issue....it is the manufacturers problem

Nice seat, EZ install, very easy clean. Pretty shell design.
We bought it to replace a very similar one, also by Mayfair/Bemis/(also AKA Church?). Probably the same model updated.
It seems better made, more durable finish and hinges. Should last a long time.

Item is as described although originally I had ordered the "Church" brand, same description as above but without easy-clean feature. (Most toilet seats I have found, are may by one company, Bemis under different names). Happy with the product so far.

Wow...I never thought I'd say this about a toilet seat, but it is beautiful! Arrived within just a few days and it truly adds an elegance to the bathroom. The description "dark brown" doesn't do it justice because the wood grain is gorgeous...the whole thing is solid and well made.

Actually not quite as dark 'in person' as the photo suggests, but a fine looking piece of furniture nonetheless. I hope the hardware doesn't rust.

This seat is beautiful, sturdy and easy to clean. I usually buy wooden seats from Target or Walmart where you can get a nice standard-sized one for about $20. I recently moved to a place with an elongated seat so the ones I usually buy would not fit. After reading some reviews here and seeing how nice it looked in the photo I took a chance and purchased it. I would have to say this is the nicest toilet seat I have ever owned. I do recommend this product and when I relocate again I will be looking to buy a seat from this company again provided I have another toilet with an elongated size. If I don't have the longer sized need I will look to see if this company makes these wooden seat in the standard size. Quality and worth it.

I received the toilet seat in just a few days after ordering. Following renovation of our master bath, it was the last (and very welcome) addition. It's rich dark brown color looks terrific and it is extremely comfortable.

Excellent quality/construction. Price would have been high without the Amazon new credit card purchase/discount. I am very pleased with the quality. I have worked in wood for the last 40 yrs. ( I am also a mechanical engineer ) and feel I can judge quality in wood products.
The wood is thicker, the brass heavier, and it is not pieced together of several sections of oak wood glued together. All marks of better quality.
There is no reason why this seat should not last for many years.

I ditto the wonderful comments of the previous two reviewers. The craftsmanship is superior to any toilet seat I have ever owned. Beautiful solid wood with an amazing piano finish. This is in my guest bathroom and I'm sure to get positive compliments. When time comes to replace the toilet seats in my other two bathrooms this will be my choice!

What can you say about a toilet seat? This one is just fine .. very reasonably priced and it fits in with my decor. The only problem is with a potential for rust on the exposed metal parts .. I just wiped mine down with Three in One oil to try to prevent that.
A really good buy.

I bought the brondell toliet seat several years ago for our 1st floor common bathroom. I've kept purchasing the refills cause the system works. It is a wonder to me more ppl don't have this item.

It was impossible to find what I wanted so I "settled" for this item. I was happily surprised when it arrived. It looks 100 times better in person and isn't as tacky as I'd feared. Time to buy a replacement. I bought one of these from this seller 2 years ago. It has stood up well to use. I clean everything with clorox, so eventually plastic/vinyl will crack, and that is what finally happened. I wouldn't be buying another one if I hadn't been pleased with the quality or the seller.
