I was tired of the cheap painted wooden toilet seats that I purchased in Walmart. Over a short period of time the paint started to chip and look pathetic. So I searched Amazon to look for a nice plastic toilet seat. I chose the Kohler K-4689-O Cachet Round Closed-Front Plastic toilet seat, white. I am happy that I did. I should have purchased it a long time ago. I like it very much.

Americans haven't the foggist notion what to think of a bidet and some may even look at it and imagine its pleasures untold. But truth be told the Brondell is a most wonderful device. When I first got mine I gave it the ol' American once over and used it several times. Most recently I have used it much more and can only rave about the feeling of cleanliness it leaves you with. Mine has a warm air dryer that I believe a bit superfluous (as you really can t sit there long enough to get totally dry); however I love the warm water wash, the remote and the warm seat that on a cold winter morning almost makes you want to stay for coffee. They are a bit pricey but you'll love it. Maybe start with the bare bones model with warm seat and warm wash. You may just want a second for that guest bath...a sure conversation starter. Installation was simple, I did it myself in 1/2 an hour.

My wife and I became acquainted with this type of product in 2005 while in Japan. I found the heated seat really nice, however... I was not willing to try the bidet functions at that time - seemed a bit much for me. This all changed on during a visit to our son and wife's home in Japan in 2009. While my first experience was a bit "unsettling", the more I had occasion to use it, the more I liked it. I was "sold" on the concept - no turning back! We did extensive research on several brands, but we settled on the Brondell S800-EW. WE LOVE IT!! Completely exceeded, all expectations. Easy to install. Really, really does the "job". Very clean, pleasant, sanitary for a not-much-spoken-of daily task. Very well made and stylish. Three year warranty on this model.
One year later (06/18/2010)... Love it even more! This is a well made product and continues to please.
Brondell Customer Service ... Recently (07/2010) had need to contact their customer service and found them exceptionally helpful and the minor problem taken care of very promptly.

"After having an emergency intestinal surgery 4 yrs. ago, I frequent the 'throne' quite often (5-10 times a day) and this seat has almost eliminated the resulting hatred of the toilet. Before I purchased the seat I was skeptical about the functions of the seat (does it really work?). It works great! It feels wonderful to be refreshed after using it. The heated seat alone is fabulous and when quests use it I just wait for the exclamation. I was also skeptical about the construction of the seat and electronics but was surprised when I opened the box and installed it. Even though it is made of plastic, it is sturdy, well designed, and manufactured with quality. I didn't think I needed all the functions of the '800' model vs. the less expensive one but I found out that I can't live without all the functions, even the blue night light makes the commode look fresh and clean. Installation was a snap, about 30 min. from opening the box. Had to use a grounded extension cord until I could install a GFI receptacle near the toilet. I enjoy this seat/bidet so much that I bring a cup of coffee with me when I go into the bathroom. I have been using the Swash for 3 months, and will get another one for the other bathroom."

We've had our swash for about a month now. Unlike other reviewers, I have not had a life changing experience with this bidet. However, we plan to keep it.
We like:
-It is an improvement in comfort and hygiene compared to the alternative dry toilet paper method.
-It is useful for people with limited mobility or recovering from colorectal surgery.
-Quality and features are comparable to much more expensive Japanese bidets.
-The remote makes it very easy to choose the functions you want and is very easy to understand.
-Good customer service at Swash.
We don't like:
-The rear sprayer does not hit the rectal area unless you scoot waaay back on the toilet seat, which "crowds the cheeks" and is not a comfortable position for #2. This has been consistent feedback from guests of all shapes and sizes. As a result, it is little more than an upper crack spritzer and it rarely gets used. The spray from this nozzle is fairly sharp and narrow compared to the other. Even at its lowest setting, it is too harsh for sensitive or damaged rectal tissues.
-The front sprayer has a different nozzle that produces a gentle spray and is designed to clean a woman's vaginal area, but it aims almost perfectly for the rectal area (some scooting back is still required). Because the spray produced by this spray head is gentle, it does not always clean the rectal area as well as we would like.
-Both sprayers aim from slightly off center and create an uneven cleansing sensation. Some wiggleing around is required to ensure thorough coverage.
-The dryer has an auto off feature that is triggered by a weight sensor. It is a cool feature that turns off the dryer when you get up. However, it is also triggered if you "shift" or lift slightly to pat yourself dry with tissue. This is a bit of a pain and I often have to turn the dryer on twice. The dryer is more of a finisher, drying with paper is still required.
-The water heater is supposed to produce three different temps of "continuous" warm water, but we have found it to be inconsistent at best. It shoots you with a quick blast of warm water then cools very quickly. Never-the-less, we have found that we like the lowest heat setting the best and we don't mind the cool "chaser".
-We purchased our unit through Costco because it was less expensive and they have a better return policy. It also came with a free water filter. The water filter will keep sediment out of your swash, helping to keep it running smoothly. However, our filter was not assembled correctly (wasn't glued together) and it exploded when we ran water through it (see pic). Swash graciously sent us two replacements that were glued properly.

This seat adds a little class to my old bathroom!! Easy to assemble, brass fittings add a nice touch, and the dark cherry finish is beautiful. I bought this toilet seat because my old natural finish wooden seat cracked, and the description on this one with the wood vaneer made it sound like it would not crack. Before I ordered it, I was a little apprehensive about the color, but now that it's in my bathroom, I couldn't be happier...

How much can you say about an item of this nature? It is of excellent quality and looks as good as a single colored one can get. The brass fittings are a nice touch. The only disappointing experience that I have had with this item is that none of my guests to this date have emerged from my bathrom with extatic praise. I just don't understand that.
This toilet seat looks just like the photo. It also has some nice looking gold hinges. It definitely improves the look of the bathroom. I highly recommend it.

I have cherry cabinets in my bathroom and was looking for a toilet seat to match. This one did, and perfectly! It arrived in perfect condition, well packed, and had all of the substantial hardware included. The hinges are shiny brass which also compliments the handles on the cabinets. It looks rich and elegant, cleans easily, is fairly light-weight but feels solid, and was much cheaper than ordering directly from the manufacturer. Another happy Amazon customer.

Don't waste money on cheaper models, they don't last long enough.
I have 3 bathrooms in my house. I used to buy less expensive models, which look almost the same as this one, and I had to replace them almost once a year. I got one of the "deluxe" type by accident and discovered that it is quite different in the quality of the material. The outside material is practically the same, but the foam inside is much denser, and there is more of it in the seat cushion, therefore it is much more durable. I guess, the wood core also plays an important role in making it last longer.
After having that one for number of years, I tried to find this quality seat for the other two of my bathrooms. Because of the specific color choice, I couldn't find it in stores. It's difficult to "feel" the difference online. When it was delivered, I was happy to find that the quality of this one was exactly as I was expecting. I am very happy with it.

The seat is just ok. It came with one of the feet that sit on the toilet broken. It was missing a screw so we had glued it back on with super glue.

I had been looking for a bone colored seat for the master bath for a long time. I had checked at all the usual stores- white was available but not bone. So I ordered this one. Fast shipping- thanks Amazon! It took me two minutes to install (maybe less). The quality is fantastic, and I am going to order three more for all my other bathrooms. This is truly a quality product. It actually matches my toilet better than the cold hard seat that it replaced.

I was happily surprised when this order came. I have purchased a bone colored padded toilet seat from Amazon before and the thing was horrible. I thought they were all the same but my last one was complete junk.
I'm glad to say that this seat has more padding than the last one and is built 10 times better. The seat also fits much better than the last one. The other one was quite a bit larger than the toilet and therefore it hung over the edge quite a bit. It just didn't look very good. This one fits perfect and took all of 5 minutes to install. The seat is nice and heavy so you can tell that the wood core pieces are not just slinder pieces of wood that are going to fall apart quickly. All in all this thing just feels built solid, looks good and feels comfortable. The only thing I would like to see is metal hardware on it but it wasn't described as such so I can't really complain. It's hard enough finding a bone toilet seat that has padding and is built well, much less trying to find one with metal hardware (hinges).
One thing I would like to mention is how fast the shipping was with this order. It said 3 to 5 weeks for delivery yet I received it in a week. Nothing to complain about here. If I could rate it 4 1/2 stars I would.

I really liked this seat for about one week, then one of the "feet" fell off and it would never totally secure to the toilet, ie: The "plastic" bolts would be as tight as I could get them but it would still move around. I removed it and double checked the bolt holes and there were no obstructions. I reinstalled the seat and the same thing, it moves as if it is not tight enough. I guess you just can not find or buy "quality" anymore.

A seat in this color, popular 30 years ago, was impossible to find locally. Although it took two purchases (i ordered citron yellow first, which was too light), I now have the perfect color and most pleased with the seat. It is well made, and I believe it will last for many years.

I read some negative reviews for a different black soft seat before going with this one. I was a little worried since there weren't anty reviews for this one at the time. I ordered this Premium Soft Black Toilet Seat on 11/5/2009. I absolutely loved it and thought it was most likely the best one I'd ever had. Unfortunately it started splitting at the seam of the lid shortly after receipt. Worse than that though is the screw that holds the bracket thing that attaches the lid to the seat will not stay screwed in. Therefore lid is wobbly and unsightly. Keep in mind that this is not overused either. It's in a secondary bathroom in our home. Seller only offers 30 day guarantee and recommended I contact the manufacturer. I ended up disappointed.
