- Towels are nice and toasty warm when they come out.
- My only complaints are
- I wish the unit was a little bigger, so that a twin size blanket would fit
- The unit can be used for back-to-back showers. After a use the unit must cool for about 20 minutes.
A Wonderful Small Luxury

I like this product a lot. Who doesn't like a warm towel when they get out of the tub or shower? Even in the summer it felt great to have a warm towel.
The details. The towel warmer is a lot smaller than I thought. It looks like a hamper in the amazon pictures, it's really more like a very small trash can. Don't be fooled though, a nice sized bath sheet does fit. The instructions talk about using small towels - no good bath sheet size do fit. Construction is pretty decent. The bottom is nicely rubberized so it won't mar a counter. There's a GFI plug for safety.
How to use it, plug it in, put your towel in, press the start button and a few minutes later the towel is warm. The heater turns off, and the towel will stay warm for at least 20 minutes. My test 40 minutes later, the towel was still nice and warm.
The only downside, the indicator lights are very hard to read in a bright room. It's very hard to tell if the green or red lights are on. But that's pretty much a nit to pick about this device.
Energy useage - can't say for certain, does seem like it would use less electricity than a rack warmer or a tumble drier. Trouble is, you really would need to hook up a Watt meter to know how much power it uses.
Nice product.
An update, 3 to 4 minute shower, the towel only got warm in some places, not the whole towel like after 20 minutes. You'd have to take a pretty darn long shower to get a completely warm towel, or start the warmer before you got in.
The towels I used were all about 4 feet long, maybe 2-3 feet wide - big bathroom towels. They fit just fine in the warmer.
Right sized for home use, Safe & warms up a towel in 5-6 minutes
I have used the Towel warmer for the last couple of days and overall I am pretty happy with it - it is quick, safe, silent and right sized for home use.
** IMP ** First time usage is different from regular usage, so do read the user manual before you start using it **
+ Good stuff
+ Safe - no metal contacts, hot surfaces on the outside
: Still keep it away from kids
+ Quick - Heats up in 5-8 minutes
+ Small size - Slightly bigger than a paper shredder
+ Big enough to fit a bath towel
+ Indicator lamps on the towel warmer to indicate when the
towel is ready
- Wish list
- Wish if the towel warmer was a little bigger to hold 2 towels
WOW Warmth!

This product delivered as promised, and I will be recommending it to friends and family! Even though I didn't necessarily need a warm towel after my shower on this 85-plus, sultry summer day, I couldn't wait to try it out. The Towel Spa is a very convenient size, and will fit under my bathroom counter for daily storage. My large, fluffy bath towel fit in it easily with room left over - I feel that reports of it being undersized are quite exaggerated, or folks are using monstrously large towels. The unit warmed fully in about eight minutes, just enough time for me to finish my shower. What luxury! I've never had the experience of a warm towel, and it's a GREAT one. I even feel as if it helped me dry faster. I am already planning to buy at least one of these for a Christmas present for my daughter!
Great--It sent my Warmrails towel warmer into retirement!

I enjoyed heated bath towels a few times several years ago, and long believed the only way that would be available to me was by using the clothes dryer. About a year ago, a friend told me about the Warmrails product line, and I bought a Warmrails Hampton (read my review there). I liked the product, but felt squeamish about leaving it plugged in 24/7 both for environmental and fire safety reasons. The Jerdon Towel Spa fixes that concern, and gives a more "OOH AAH!" hot towel experience as well. The Towel Spa heats my bath towel to a hotter temperature than the Warmrail, though not uncomfortably hot. And the Jerdon heats the towel more evenly than my Warmrails, which left the "outside" layer of a folded towel only mildly warm. And since it heats up quickly, you can plug it in just before you take a shower, and unplug it afterwards till the next time!
As at least one other reviewer commented, there is a distinct odor associated with the product while it is heated. I believe this is stuff volatilizing off of the plastics--Similar to the odor you get when you open a plastic product that's been sealed tightly in a bag, the heat is driving volatile components off into the air. If my theory is correct, the odor will go away after awhile, but it hasn't yet. As mentioned in the literature with the product, the outside of the Jerdon gets quite hot. Hot enough to be uncomfortable, though not hot enough to burn if you pull your hand away quickly (as I did involuntarily when I tested it!). I don't consider either of these to be a real problem, though I don't think I'd care to leave plastic wrap touching the side of the thing while it was heating up.
The electric cord is on the short side. No doubt the lawyers made them do this, to make it harder for consumers to drop the thing into the bathtub. Commendable, but since builders nowadays are refusing to put electric plugs anywhere near the bathtub or shower, it means that you are either going to have to use an extension cord (which would be a very bad idea in the bathroom) or else walk your dripping wet body across the bathroom to get to your hot towel. For me, this is the biggest drawback to the product.
I still love it, and my Warmrails (which I merely liked, not loved) is going into permanent retirement. If you want to luxuriate in a hot towel, I think you'll be pleased.

I received this for a gift. You have to keep it on all the time as it takes 45 minutes or longer to really warm up. It does not "warm" your towel. It does a great job of drying it, but doesn't really make it warm at all. The only place the towel will be warm is on the very middle where it hangs over the rail. If your intent is to buy one that warms your towels, look for something else as this is not effective at all.
Does not warm towels

I even left the towels on the rack overnight and the towels were only slightly warm. By the time the towel was taken off the rack the warmth is gone quickly. Not worth plugging in and wasting energy.

This towel rack/towel warmer is good looking and works well. It handles two good sized bath towels folded in half. It needs two layers to work well and works even better if you add a hand towel on top. I'd definitely buy it again.
good but not great

First of all the quality is great. Nicely built. Has a mechanical on/off switch which is essential if you are planning on placing this on a timer like I did. The problem I have with it is that it simply doesn't get hot enough. Does get warm, or maybe tepid. Certainly not like that right out of the dryer feeling. It does allow wet towels, placed on it, to dry faster.
I did buy another cheaper model for $68 at a local retailer because it had 3 settings. None were hotter. It also had an electronic on/off switch which didn't work with a timer. Its quality was cheap plastic as well.
Overall I would not buy another as the amount of warmness is not worth this price.
